Mindful Photo Lab combines mindfulness and creativity, offering photography workshops that promote mental well-being and personal growth.

Mindful Photo Lab was founded by Pierre Bureau and grew out of his personal experience of using creative practice and mindfulness to support mental wellbeing. After facing mental health challenges, and later working as a care worker in London supporting elderly men, Pierre developed a strong interest in listening, care, and the value of lived experience.
Today, Mindful Photo Lab works with communities to co-create projects that support wellbeing, creativity, and social connection. Through workshops and longer-term projects, participants are invited to explore self-expression, share stories, and engage with themes such as place, memory, food, and everyday culture in welcoming and inclusive settings.
Alongside its community-facing work, Mindful Photo Lab is engaged in research-informed practice and knowledge sharing, collaborating with researchers and partners, including work with NHS partners, and is currently editing a book that brings together learning from its projects and research collaborations.
This balance between practice and reflection allows Mindful Photo Lab to support communities while also contributing to wider conversations around creative health and participation.
Our projects enhance well-being, strengthen connections, and build confidence for underrepresented communities, families, and volunteers through creative workshops and events in photography and digital skills, fostering belonging and personal growth.
