We have been supporting local communities since 2020

"Women by Women"

In collaboration with Sylvie Belbouab, a community artist and social-documentary photographer from Newham and Poplar Union we have facilitated ‘Women by Women’ – a collection of portraits captured by local women to champion equality and commemorate International Women’s Day.

The exhibition showcases the diversity of our community and how people unite, reflecting on the strong bond formed by the group’s collaboration in photography.

The project is part of “Community Utopia” which is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

In a world buzzing with technology and urban living, reconnecting with nature has never been more crucial. The recent Green Adventurers Photo Workshop, a dynamic collaboration funded by the Community Lottery Fund and in partnership with Poplar Union, brought families together for a unique and enriching experience.

In March 2023, we had the privilege of facilitating a photography workshop for Living Streets, a charity with an inspiring mission to promote walking as a healthy and sustainable mode of transport.

Walking Connects inspires over 50s to get out and about on engaging led walks to help reduce loneliness, and provides the opportunity to voice their need for changes to their local walking environment.

"The Sea Between Us"

“The Sea Between Us” was an online mindful photography workshop that spanned over seven weeks, from March 2020 to June 2021, in East London.

The workshop aimed to support local individuals at the onset of the pandemic by providing them with an opportunity to learn new skills, cultivate resilience and connect with their community.

This project was a collaboration with the Bromley-by-Bow Centre and was backed by the Mayor of London’s Culture Seeds program.

The project reached its culmination with two summer exhibitions, organized and curated by Rose Fraser and Pierre Bureau at the Bromley-by-Bow center.

In January 2022, we ran an 8-week food photography course with Tower Hamlets residents in collaboration with University of Sussex and Women Environmental Network which celebrated mindfulness, art and heritage to improve wellbeing and community connection.

“A Feast for the Eyes” is part of a new programme on the St George’s Estate, Shadwell, called Food Stories Tower Hamlets. It’s all about the role food plays in our lives and the importance of history, culture and heritage to our food habits.

"Creative Futures"

In collaboration with the Bromley by Bow center, we had the opportunity to conduct a photography workshop in August 2021 called “Creative Futures” to aid young adults.

Our primary objective was to equip them with new abilities like self-confidence, leadership, and teamwork, using photography as a medium to help them find new career prospects and discover a fresh path to employment. It was satisfying to observe the workshop’s positive influence on young adults who had recently migrated to the UK as they enhanced their English proficiency and overall well-being.

"Mindful Family Photo Workshop"

In collaboration with Autography gallery, we organised a workshop for 4-13 year olds and their families during the summer of 2022, taking inspiration from Autograph’s exhibition “Monica de Miranda: The Island”. The workshop had the aim of introducing children to the art of photography, building their skills and confidence, and providing an enjoyable experience.
